Paint Correction & Protection

Expert removal of swirls and scratches to reveal your paint’s deepest gloss.

Paint correction is the art of removing surface imperfections (swirl marks, light scratches, water spots and oxidation) from your vehicle’s clear coat. This process restores deep gloss and clarity, creating a flawless foundation for wax or ceramic coating. It’s what our polish ladder is, and every price is published on our Services & Pricing page.

🧽
Paint Decontamination

A clay bar is used to safely pull embedded contaminants from the paint, creating a smooth surface.

🌀
Compounding (Cutting)

Using a dual-action polisher and compound, we carefully level the clear coat to remove defects.

Finishing Polish

A finer polish refines the finish and removes any haze, bringing out the paint’s deep gloss.

🛡️
Protection

A high-quality wax or sealant is hand-applied to protect the newly corrected surface. Upgrade to ceramic wax or a warrantied coating from here.

So which polish do I actually buy? The number in front of “Step” is how much correction you’re buying. It isn’t the stage list above. Every polish finishes with hand wax; the higher tiers add more correction underneath it.

  • 1-Step: hand wax. Protection only, no correction.
  • 2-Step: glaze and hand wax.
  • 3-Step: filler, glaze and hand wax.
  • 4-Step: compound, filler, glaze and hand wax. The full correction, and the only polish a warrantied ceramic coating can go on.

Guaranteed Protection

The only warrantied ceramic ladder in the east end.

A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer chemically bonded to your vehicle’s factory paint. It creates an incredibly durable, hydrophobic layer that shields your car from UV rays, chemical stains, bird droppings and light scratches for years. That’s the difference from polishing: correction makes the paint perfect, a coating is what keeps it that way.

💎
Paint Correction Mandatory

The paint must be perfectly corrected first, so no imperfections are sealed in underneath the coating.

🧴
Panel Prep

Each panel is wiped with a specialized prep solution to strip polishing oils and ensure a perfect bond.

🖐️
Application

The coating is meticulously applied by hand, indoors, to ensure even coverage.

Curing

The car is left to cure in a clean indoor space for 24 hours so the coating fully hardens and cross-links.

Two ways to protect it. One is a shine, one is a warranty.

Ceramic Wax goes on after any polish. The 3-Year Ceramic Coating is our warrantied option, and goes on after a full 4-step polish, so protection bonds to perfect paint, backed in writing.

Ceramic Wax

Hand-applied ceramic wax. Adds after any polish, no 4-step needed. Lasts up to 6 months.

Sedan $100SUV $120Large $140
3-Year Coating

Three winters of salt, sun and slush, with a written 3-year warranty. Warranty holds with hand washing only — no machine car washes.

Sedan $1,000SUV $1,100Large $1,200

The 3-Year Coating can only be added after our 4-step polish (Sedan $500 · SUV $600 · Large $700) so the coating bonds to flawless paint. That’s why we can put a warranty on it. Ceramic Wax has no such requirement; it goes on after any polish. About 6 months in, an optional 3rd coat refresh ($500) tops the protection back up — ask us when you’re due.

Questions we get at the counter

How much does car detailing cost in Scarborough?

Our published prices start at $20 for an exterior hand wash, $60 for interior detailing, and $80 for a Mini Detail, which is what most cars need. Prices scale by vehicle size (Sedan, SUV, Large) and are confirmed with you before any work begins.

How much is ceramic coating?

We run two options. Ceramic Wax is $100 for a sedan, $120 for an SUV and $140 for a large vehicle, and it can go on after any polish. Our warrantied 3-Year Ceramic Coating is $1,000 for a sedan, $1,100 for an SUV and $1,200 for a large vehicle, and can only be applied after a full 4-step polish (Sedan $500 · SUV $600 · Large $700), because a coating locks in whatever condition the paint is already in. About 6 months after the coating, an optional $500 3rd coat refresh tops the protection back up.

Do you take a deposit to book online?

No. There is no payment online. Booking direct on our site takes 10% off automatically and we only need your name and a phone number so we can text you to confirm. You pay in person at pickup by card, tap or cash.

How long does a detail take?

Everything except the Max Detail is same day. An exterior wash is about 20 to 30 minutes, interior detailing about 30 to 40 minutes, and a Mini Detail about 45 to 60 minutes. A Max Detail is about 2 hours of work, but the car stays with us for 24 hours so the shampooed carpets and seats dry under supervision.

Do you offer discounts for Uber and Lyft drivers?

Yes. Rideshare, taxi and accessibility drivers get up to 20% off interior packages, seat shampoo at $50 per seat, or the Driver Full Revamp from $250, covering the full exterior plus every-seat shampoo. Seven-seat vehicles and heavy jobs price up from there, always confirmed with you first. Just show your driver app at the counter.

What is the difference between polishing and a ceramic coating?

Polishing is paint correction: we remove swirl marks, light scratches, water spots and oxidation from the clear coat to bring the gloss back. A ceramic coating is protection: a liquid polymer that bonds to the paint and shields it from UV, chemical stains and bird droppings for years. Correction makes the paint perfect, the coating is what keeps it that way. That is why every warrantied coating goes on after a 4-step polish.

Can you remove all scratches?

We can remove most light surface scratches. Deeper scratches that penetrate the base coat may require touch-up paint.

How long does paint correction last?

The correction itself is permanent. The protective wax or sealant that finishes it lasts about 3 to 6 months, while a ceramic coating can last years.

Is paint correction safe for my car’s paint?

Yes. Performed by our trained professionals it is perfectly safe, and it actually preserves your paint long-term.

How long does a ceramic coating last?

Depends which one you pick. Ceramic Wax is protection rather than a coating and lasts up to 6 months. The 3-Year Ceramic Coating is guaranteed for 3 years in writing — provided the car is hand washed only for that whole period (machine car washes void it, see below).

How do I maintain a ceramic coating?

Wash with a pH-neutral shampoo and avoid automatic brush washes, which are what put the swirl marks there in the first place, and stay hand-wash only to keep the 3-year warranty valid. We also recommend an optional 3rd coat refresh ($500) about 6 months in, to top the protection back up before it starts to fade.

Is a ceramic coating better than wax?

Yes. A coating lasts years instead of months and gives you superior hardness and chemical resistance. Wax is the cheaper answer if you want the shine without the commitment, and it is an honest one, but it is not the same product.

What is ceramic coating and how does it work?

A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds chemically to your paint’s clear coat and cures into a semi-permanent protective layer. Unlike a wax that sits on top and washes off in weeks, it becomes part of the surface, shielding against UV, road salt, bird droppings and chemical stains for years. The bond is only as good as the prep, which is why our warrantied coatings go on after a full 4-step polish onto clean, corrected paint, never over dirt or swirl marks.

Is a ceramic coating scratch proof?

No, and anyone who tells you otherwise is overselling. A coating is much harder than bare clear coat, so it resists wash-induced swirl marks, light marring and chemical etching far better than unprotected paint. But it will not stop a rock chip, a key, or a deep scratch from something sharp. Think serious scratch resistance, not a force field.

Why should I ceramic coat my car in Scarborough?

Our winters are brutal on paint: months of road salt, brine and slush that attack the clear coat, followed by summers of strong UV that fade it. A ceramic coating is exactly the defence for that cycle. Salt and chemicals rinse off instead of bonding, and UV is blocked before it dulls the colour. For a car that lives through Scarborough winters, it is the difference between paint that ages and paint that holds.

Do I still need to wash my ceramic coated car?

Yes, but with a lot less effort. The coating is hydrophobic, so water beads and rolls off taking most of the dirt with it, and what is left rinses away easily. You never need to wax it again. Just wash with a pH-neutral shampoo and skip the automatic brush washes, since those spinning brushes are what put swirl marks into the paint in the first place.

Why can’t I use a machine car wash on my ceramic coated car?

Machine car washes put acid in their soap, which removes ceramic coating completely and also causes scratches on the paint. That is also why the 3-year warranty on our Ceramic Coating is only valid with hand washing — one trip through a machine wash can strip protection you paid for and leave the paint worse off than before. Hand wash it yourself, or bring it back to us, and the warranty stays intact.
