Search for detailing prices around Toronto and you mostly find the words “starting from” attached to a form. We publish every number instead. Here is the whole list, and more usefully, how to work out which one you actually need.
The short answer
For a normal car in normal condition in Scarborough, expect roughly:
- $20 to $40 for an exterior hand wash
- $80 to $120 for a proper wash-and-vacuum detail, which is what most people want
- $180 to $220 for a full interior shampoo
If a shop cannot give you a number in that shape before you hand over the keys, that is worth noticing.
Why size changes the price
Every price we quote is banded by vehicle size, and it is not arbitrary. A crew cab pickup has close to twice the glass, twice the panel area and twice the carpet of a coupe. It takes more time, more product and more towels. So the bands are:
- Sedan: sedans and coupes
- SUV: five-seat SUVs and two-seat pickups
- Large: seven-seat SUVs, minivans, crew cabs
The full list
| Service | Sedan | SUV | Large |
|---|---|---|---|
| Exterior Wash | $20 | $30 | $40 |
| Mini Detail | $80 | $100 | $120 |
| Max Detail | $180 | $200 | $220 |
| Showroom Service | $450 | $500 | $550 |
The one most people should book is the Mini Detail. Hand wash and dry, complete interior vacuum, dash, console and door detailing, and windows inside and out, in about 45 to 60 minutes. It is the honest answer for most cars most of the time, and it is why it is our most popular service rather than our most expensive one.
When to spend more
The Max Detail at $180 to $220 exists for one reason: a full interior shampoo. Book it when the cabin has absorbed something. Spilled coffee, a winter of salt ground into the carpets, a dog, a smell you cannot place.
One thing worth knowing before you book it: the car stays with us for 24 hours afterwards. The work itself is about two hours, but shampooed carpets and seats have to dry under supervision. If we hand a damp car back the same afternoon, you get in the next morning and it smells worse than when you arrived. That is not a policy to keep your car hostage, it is the difference between a shampoo that works and one that does not.
Why prices move
Every price above assumes a vehicle in average condition. The things that genuinely add cost are pet hair, sand, heavy soiling, spills and biohazards, because they add real time rather than a line on an invoice.
Our rule is simple: we walk the car with you at drop-off and confirm the final price before any work starts. No phone call halfway through the job, no surprise at pickup. If we find something, you hear about it while you are still standing there and you can say no.
How to save money without cutting corners
- Book online, any day. Booking direct on our site takes 10% off automatically. No coupon, no waiting for a sale.
- Buy the seat, not the cabin. One bad back seat is a $50 seat shampoo, not a $200 interior.
- Drive for Uber or Lyft? There is driver pricing, up to 20% off interiors, and a Driver Full Revamp from $250.
- Do not buy protection for a car you are handing back. If you are leasing, skip the long coating.
What “hand detailing” means here
No conveyor belt and no franchise. The car is washed and finished by hand, by a team that has done this since 1996, in a shop where the owner is on the floor. That is the whole business model, and it is the reason the prices above are the prices you pay.
